Watching The Silence Of The Lambs again some 30 years later, you come to realize it's greatest strength being, is that it is an 'actors piece. This is what raises the picture up to it's still seminal and legendary status today, whilst the background story, events and supporting cast can seem slightly dated and diluted, due to the sheer number and diabolical content offered by thrillers since its lead performers have weathered and survived the years immaculately however and is primarily the root source of why this film still holds up as strongly as it are exquisite in their creation and to haunted house finale is a bit wobbly and unreasonable even back in 1990 but probably not enough reason to carp.I don't think, in regards it's honouring, the Academy sweeps the thriller/horror genre under the rug in so far as accolade, more like a case being that films of undeniable excellence such as The Exorcist and this one are just so few and far between.

This film could not benefit any more from the amazing acting of Sir Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal 'the Cannibal' Lecter. He's so calm, collected and slightly likeable that he will scare you. I didn't think he had done until I had a nightmare that night dreaming he was by my bed repeating my name in the same hushed voice used when saying "Clarice. I can't think of anyone better suited for the role. Watch out for the part after he's killed two security guards. Standing with blood spattered over his face, his hands, his body he calmly turns on his classical music. Amazing. Jodie Foster is also good as the trainee FBI agent. The exchanges between her and Lecter are the main basis of the film and the most creepy. A brilliant film and I'm glad to see Hopkins will be reprising his role for 'Hannibal.

Yeah, I can see why it got four stars. The acting is marvelous, the plot is incredible, and the script is a masterpiece. I love everything about this film, I mean EVERYTHING, and can rightfully say that it is a see and see again suspense movie. I can give you who haven't see it the main difference between Dr. Hannibal Lecter and 'Buffalo Bill. Lecter makes you all squeamish and scares you. Buffalo Bill (what a naughty boy he is. makes you feel very, very dirty. Nuff said.
GO SEE THIS MOVIE NO MATTER WHAT. It is a definite worth while for you out there who have been unfortunate enough to have not seen this yet. Oh, one other note. Send the kids to the grandparents before poppin' it in.
